In a moroccan quiet rural village, surrounded by fields and hills, young Malik lay in bed, tossing and turning. His cheek was swollen, and he pressed his little hand against it, trying to ease the stabbing pain in his molar. The dim light of an oil lamp flickered in their modest home, as his father, Ahmed, sat nearby, helpless.
“Baba, it hurts so much,” Malik whimpered, tears streaming down his face.
Ahmed sighed deeply. “I know, my son. But there’s no doctor or dentist nearby. The closest clinic is in the city, miles away. How can we get there tonight?”
Ahmed felt a pang of guilt and frustration. He wanted nothing more than to take his son’s pain away, but in their remote village, access to healthcare was a distant dream. The night dragged on painfully, with neither father nor son getting any sleep.
